  3. 3_Drives v2.6: Universal Device Driver that allows you to add a 2nd
  4. 16-bit Hard Disk Drive Interface to your DOS AT (286+) system.
  5. Shareware now includes READ FAST routines. Add up to two more MFM,
  6. RLL, ESDI, IDE AT Interface drives for a total of THREE drives.

  11. REGISTRATION INFORMATION
  12.  
  13. Registration Procedure:
  14.  
  15. Dustbowl Designs, Inc. 3_Drives device driver is a complete and fully
  16. functional Shareware program.  You are invited to try and test the
  17. device driver for a time period of 14 days (2 weeks) in its
  18. unregistered status.  After this 14 day trail period, the device
  19. driver must be registered with Dustbowl Designs, Inc. or disengaged.

  21. Unlike the flexibility provided in Shareware Applications for
  22. registration reminders, a Shareware Device Driver is often out of
  23. sight and out of mind.  So, please take care to remember that you are
  24. still obliged to follow the rules of the 14 day trail period.  This
  25. shareware version requires the user to press a specific key to
  26. continue the boot process and displays a "Don't Delay, Register Today"
  27. reminder.  Registered versions boot through without ANY delays,
  28. whatsoever.

  30. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  31.  
  32. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before
  33. buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it beyond
  34. the trial period, you are expected to register.
  35.  
  36. Copyright laws apply to Shareware software products, and the copyright
  37. holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as stated
  38. below. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute
  39. the software, either to all or to a specific group. For example, some
  40. authors require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may
  41. copy their Shareware products.

  43. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should
  44. find software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's
  45. commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs
  46. easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the overhead
  47. is low, prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back
  48. guarantee -- if you do not use the product, you do not pay for it.

  50. 3_Drives is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge to the
  51. user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends, but
  52. please do not give it away altered or as part of another system.  The
  53. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer
  54. users with quality software without high prices, and yet to provide
  55. incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.

  57. If you continue to use 3_Drives after 14 days, you must make a
  58. registration payment of $30.00 to Dustbowl Designs, Inc.. Payment of
  59. the registration fee will license one copy of v3.01 for use on any one
  60. computer at any one time.  You have the option at registration time to
  61. select the enhanced 4_Drives v3.01.

  65.   * MULTIPLE sector Block Mode commands supported on newer AT/IDE
  66.     drives for data transfer rates that exceed the primary port
  67.     address!
  68.   * FAST WRITE companion to the FAST READ rountine for all interfaces.
  69.   * Support for up to 10 logical drives per physical drive.
  70.   * Ultra-fast program loading without delays or required user
  71.     intervention. (If you're getting tired of the random character
  72.     starter and prolonged registration reminder, then it is probably
  73.     time to register <grin>.)
  74.   * Includes 4_Park, a four drive head-parking/screen-saver utility.
  75.   * Postscript version of the documentation.
  76.   * Advanced technical support and continuous upgradability to all
  77.     future registered versions via our BBS.

  79. You must treat this software just like a book.  An example is that
  80. this software may be used by any number of people and may be freely
  81. moved from one computer location to another, so long as there is no
  82. possibility of it being used at one location while it is being used at
  83. another.

  85. Commercial users of 3_Drives must register and pay for their copies of
  86. 3_Drives within 14 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.

  90. Anyone distributing 3_Drives v2.6 for any kind of remuneration must
  91. first contact Dustbowl Designs, Inc. at the address below for
  92. authorization. This authorization will be automatically granted to
  93. distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for
  94. shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering
  95. 3_Drives v2.6 immediately (However Dustbowl Designs, Inc. must still
  96. be advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the
  97. latest version of 3_Drives).

  99. You are encouraged to pass a copy of 3_Drives v2.6 shareware
  100. distribution ZIP file along to your friends for evaluation.  Please
  101. encourage them to register their copy if they find that they can use
  102. it.

  104. We have studied hundreds of shareware products in order to determine a
  105. mutually acceptable registration fee.  This wonderful device driver
  106. does provide a true enhancement to your system and likely allows you
  107. to derive benefit and system uses otherwise impossible.  Therefore, we
